Jin initially attended college after high school and completed several courses towards an associate’s degree in nursing.
After completing his first two semesters in school, he earned a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Although he had to leave school to care for young children and an aging parent, the CNA certification allowed him to find work in caregiving roles.
Throughout his early career, Jin tracked his skills and credentials in a digital wallet. This included certifications like CPR and First Aid earned through his first job at a nursing home,
and a Caregiver Certification from an online course,
As his children grew older and more independent, Jin decided to return to school to finish his degree.
At school, an advisor reviewed his digital credentials, which verified his existing skills in patient care and communication
The school recognized the credentials and gave him credit,
enabling Jin to skip some courses and focus on the remaining classes needed to complete the degree.
This helped him fast-track his education and focus on building other skills required for advanced certifications.
After earning his associate degree in nursing, Jin became eligible to sit for and pass the Registered Nurse (RN) exam.
With his RN certification, Jin was able to advance his career, moving into more specialized roles.
Jin’s digital credentials helped him get work before finishing college, and supported him in planning his career path, guiding him towards advanced roles and specializations.
